I am also thinking of dropping Netflix. It's been one year I am using fire tv.all other services are running without any fail. But,Netflix on the other hand showing problem every month. Now came every week. Now it's not working at all. Showing no. Of errors. If there is a network error how come other services working like a charm. It's been 4 days I am trying but all in vain.

I had the same problem with a Toshiba 50” 4K smart tv. Every other device worked fine except the TV for Netflix. Connected to network, restarted network, power cycle TV all no change.
The solution in the end was that Netflix was dragging the auth from the google login and as I hadn’t signed into my google account yet on the TV it was not able to connect to the Netflix server ????♂️ First and then prompt for Netflix credentials.
One I had setup google account, Netflix worked as designed on the Toshiba TV.
My TV is connected and has a great signal. I’ve in plugged it, I’ve started my TV as if I’m new and it stated that I was connected to the internet. I am with BT but can stream Netflix on other devices but have also restarted my modem as well, just in case. Pulling my hair out.
This drove me up the wall. Brand new Netgear Nighthawk router. I tried any suggestion I could find, that I could undo if it fouled things up. Old router worked great. Ran cable direct from modem to TV all worked fine. So it had to be the new router.Then, I came across a post suggesting the MTU in the router was set too high. The MT what? So I'm all over the web to find out what the impact of reducing the MTU might be. It is very easy to reduce or increase the MTU. So I dropped it from 1500 to 1400 and my Netfix, Amazon prime, & Youtube all run as they should and all other devices I have using that router seem to function OK.. If there is any degradation in performance I can not detect it. This solution may be unique to the Netgear router I have but it is worth a try. I understand some routers can be set to automatic MTU. I ask myself, Why did not anyone at Netflix suggest this fix?

one solution for this problem is lowering the MTU settings in your home router. after several weeks of forum searching, support chats with netflix service (useless), reading articles, all it took was simple change of the MTU from 1500 to 1492 and everything works. no thanks to netflix service
Only thing that works for me is to sign out of Netflix on TV app and sign in again with email and password.
Then it works.
Stream Youtube at 4k and no issue but piece of sh Netflix app says network issue :-(
Thinking of dropping Netflix. Tried everything. Internet speed is fine. Works on mobiles, IPad and laptop but not on the lounge smart TV where I actually want to watch it. Worked on trying to fix it for almost 2 hours. Time for bed now and not a very relaxing evening. Think I will watch Amazon Prime or Stan in future and forget about this service.
Sometimes it works after jumping through some of these hoops . ..most times not. I’ve given up...
