The asked ransom is very high - can I decrypt MPAJ files in some other way? Or are my files gone forever??
Dear sir/madam,
MPAJ is a ransomware variant from STOP/DJVU ransomware family. It is an advanced and complex virus, and unfortunately, I have to disappoint you because there is no way to decrypt files without having the decryption key held by the criminals - it is the whole point of encryption/decryption procedure.
STOP/DJVU variants only have one flaw in them which is the offline encryption (you can read more about it in article on how to remove MPAJ ransomware virus). However, it takes time for the decryption tool to be updated as someone with offline encryption needs to pay the ransom and share the key with cybersecurity experts.
You can check for decryption updates here: How to decrypt files locked by STOP/DJVU variants.
My key doesn't end in t1, so my files are screwed I guess…
